The new hops I purchased, POR, Goldings, Saaz, Victoria, Fuggles and Flinders have all started well. I was starting to get a little worried that my original hops, cluster, cascade, chinook, and columbus, were damaged in some way, not starting. But a hot week here and they have taken off. Each bine is strong and thick. The cluster has put up around 7 strong bines which have grown 2 feet in the space of three days. The columbus has been a little slower with only one at the moment, many in waiting, but that one has aleady sent of some laterals.

The cascade now has 6 or 7 reasonably strong bines growing up, but much slower than the others. The bolter is the Chinnok. There was no sign of action until the weekend and now it has 5 strong bines of around 2 feet with more on the way.

All of the hops look better than they ever have. The weather has worked for them this year and I haven't move them which has helped I'm sure. It should be a great crop.
